Took place at the 'Centre' square, in front of the mosque, sculpture of CONVEST'10 act as the main props of our photography session.

This programme participated by chocolate producers, distributors as well as retailers. There are also some bakeries, hotels and IKS entrepreneurs that are involved directly in producing and creating chocolate and cocoa base products such as cakes, sweets, beverages and premium gifts.

Alhamdulillah, the first day of this event has run smoothly. Besides testing and buying the chocolates, visitors also have the chance to play some games that the committees has prepared. Today's sub event was jigsaw puzzle games. A bunch of thanks to all who came and support this event today. We received positive feedback on the first day of this event and hope for moreeee tomorrow. Don't miss this opportunity people. do come and visit us!

A very memorable Saturday when Le tour de CONVEST '10 was held successfully.

Thank you Allah for granted us with such precious moments.

Convest'10 convoy organised by Publicity and Promotion Department lead by Br. Adib Fakhrullah Azmi, purposely to promote all sub-programmes under CONVEST '10 as well as CONVEST '10 itself towards the community of International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuantan campus..

This convoy was participated by 90 committee members from Central Departments, sub-programmes and in conjunction programmes. 10 cars, 1 van and 1 bus were escorted by IIUM security and marshall from PDRM; they helped a lot in ensuring the smoothness of our journey to the East (say bye to the red traffic light;p )..After a short briefing by Br. Muhammad Azwan Fadhli, we departed from IIUM Gombak and arrived at IIUM Kuantan approximately at 2.30 pm.. After we had our lunch, Br. Muhammad Aklil Ayob, Vice President 1 of SRC 09/10 a.k.a President of SRC Kuantan delivered his short remarks in welcoming us to IIUM Kuantan..Followed by speech by Br. Muhammad Firwan Norliza, ex-officio CONVEST'10 a.k.a President of SRC 09/10 on behalf of Le tour de CONVEST '10.

Mission started. We went to all corners of IIUM Kuantan including brothers' mahallah which are located outside the campus.. some of us set up a booth at cafe while another committees move to every room to distribute the flyers and promote their respective programmes..

Special thanks to DJ MKA & DJ Remy from IIUM.fm who enliven the cafe atmosphere.. Mission accomplished! before we set off to IIUM Gombak at 7 pm, photography session was something we shouldn't miss out. Together with SRC Kuantan's President and his committees (really appreciate your helps), several photos which will refresh back our precious memories in Kuantan were taken.. 12am,"welcome home!"said 'pak guard'-_- ..tired+fatigue+exhausted?? yes,of course..but then, we have had a wonderful experience during the convoy,will always there in mind..and always will be;)

In rejuvenating IIUM community with the spirit of Triple ICE (IIICE), ‘Back to The Root’ concept is used for this coming IIUM 26th Convocation Fiesta (CONVEST'10).

This logo is created by using basic shape (cubical) in order to apply the simplicity of design basis.

AL-FATIHAH~ Hafreez in memories~

Our dear friend, Nik Hafreez Afiq Mohd Ghazali (Programme Manager of The IIUM Chocolate Fair) has left the world before us. A loving son and a truthful friend, he died at the age of 24. On the 2nd day of Syawal, after Allahyarham had his sahur approximately at 3am (after spending the whole night chatting with his family),he went for sleep which was meant to be his last.

Doctor certified his death occured 2hours after his last sahur. And his death was due to ischaemic heart disease (insufficient supply of blood to the heart causing damage to the heart muscle).

Let us pray that his soul will be placed amongst the soliheen. May this also serve as a reminder to all of us. Death wait for none. May this life we live manifest our preparation when we finally meet our Creator. Aameen..Al-Fatihah~

SPECIAL RAMADHAN 2~

Many reports have been narrated from the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) explaining the distinction of Ramadhan:

"The month of Ramadan has come to you; a month of goodness and blessing." [Ibn Khuzaymah]

"The Master of the Months is Ramadan, and the Master of the days is Friday." [Ibn Khuzaymah]

"Whoever fasted Ramadan with faith and in expectancy of reward, his previous sins are forgiven." [Bukhari and Muslim]

"When Ramadan comes, the gates of Heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained."
And in a narration from Nasa'i, the following words are added: "and a caller calls out every night: 'Oh seeker of Good, draw near! Oh seeker of Evil, desist!' "

SPECIAL RAMADHAN 1~

The month of Ramadan has excellences over the other months, as is testified to by the Qur'an and Sunnah, and out of these we will bring to attention the following virtues:

1. It is the month of the Qur'an, with regards to revelation and study. ("The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an." [Qur'an, 2:185]). On the authority of Ibn `Abbas: Jibril used to meet the Prophet every night in Ramadan and used to study Qur'an with him.

2. It is the month of seclusion. Ibn `Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to seclude himself for the last ten days of the month of Ramadan."

3. It is the month of generosity. Ibn `Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to be at his most generous in Ramadan."

4. It is the month of standing (in voluntary night prayer). On the authority of Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "Whoever stands (in voluntary night prayer) during Ramadan, with faith and in expectancy of reward, his previous sins are forgiven him."

5. It is the month of the compulsory fast, because of Allah's saying, "So, whoever among you witnesses the month should fast." [Qur'an, 2:185]

A terrible error prevalent among people is to talk about Ramadan just as they talk about the obligation of fasting, as if Ramadan and fasting are synonymous, each carrying neither the meaning of the other and not anything more nor less. Yet, fasting is one of many acts of worship in Ramadan.

The purpose of this 2nd wave of recruitment is to cover the insufficient number of subcommittee members of CONVEST’10 during the previous recruitment.

Convocation Fiesta (CONVEST) is an annual event held by Students' Representative Council 2009/2010 in collaboration with university authorities especially Student Development Division. It largely consist of several programmes organized by the clubs, societies and association in International Islamic University Malaysia.

Among the objectives of Convocation Fiesta 2010 are to:

To acknowledge the graduating students as well as to serve the IIUM students a great opportunity to organize programme for the IIUM community and public at large.
The Convocation Fiesta (CONVEST) will be an avenue to foster and strengthen the ties among the IIUM community as well as members of public.
To manifest and reflect the unique abilities, universal ideas and Islamic identity of the university andits students.
To cultivate the tradition of knowledge and the preservation of Islamic values as the basis of humanity in building a better community.
To appreciate the uniqueness of Islamic cultures adaption in different ethnicities in both local and international.

With the theme "Empowering Future Excellence", we hope that all objectives will be achieved through the implementation of programs throughout CONVEST 2010.InsyaAllah.
